The Winter, marked descent. Hephaestion abeyant. Quiescent, sinking sands. Plunging darkness, over guided hand. Fragments. Rotting vowels. Houses. Children. Ploughs. "there with measure they no spending made" as the waters thin; with awe in retrograde. We are broken little bones. And we are trading our hearts, for homes. But it's all over now. It's all over now.

"With My Love" are the first words, on the first Carte de Visite, written beneath a basket of flowers, in an incomplete sandalwood bound family photo album from the late 19th century. With colour photography a distant development, these petals and stems would likely have been coloured and augmented by hand.

Carte de Visites were a small format of photograph patented by André Adolphe-Eugène Disdéri. These small (often albumen) prints would be collected, generated, and exchanged in an equivalent manner to visiting cards. They would form a sort of proto 'social media', finding their home amidst the curios of Victorian Parlours. As well as famous figures, images of one's own relatives were often procured, with studios popping up across the country, affording the well to-do a glimpse at their own visage, and an opportunity to share it with others.

"With My Love" is an attempt to complete the history of a long-orphaned photo album bought in the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool, through 40 hand drawn ink sketches placed in the missing frames alongside the photographs. The accompanying music explores themes of lost histories, key Women in the beginnings of Photography, as well as selected Piano Works written within the project's duration.

The Album will be a digital only release, with a bonus track available only via Bandcamp. Ten unique A5 Giclée prints of hand drawn pieces from the photo album on Bamboo paper will accompany the release. These are limited to one per order.
